After her baby daughter Lindsay’s death in 1983, Corry spent a decade as volunteer chapter leader of The Compassionate Friends of Edmonton. She and Gene were also founding members of The Bereavement Society of Alberta.

After the adoption of their son in 1987, Corry immersed in study of FASD and addictions related issues, integrating them into her unique practise of Therapeutic Art Methods and its adjuncts of Senoi Indian and Jungian dream work, NLP, Therapeutic Touch and resonance in music therapy.

Corry only seriously began writing after the death of her baby. Initially written as a healing agent, her first published book By Grace of Mourning has also been described as such for bereaved parents and professionals.

She recently completed a volume In Shadows of Greatness on FASDaddictions and its effects on families, and she is also writing books about the pioneered work of her practise.
